About Pilyara Boarding Kennels

Kennels 006I may be passionate about the Australian rural novels that I write, but my first love has always been dogs and horses. Our property, Pilyara, boasts a small boarding facility situated in Pakenham Upper, Victoria, with never more than ten dogs. This allows for plenty of personal attention. Our family have looked after animals in this beautiful rural location for more than twenty-five years. Dogs are walked daily.The kennels are spacious, right beside the house, and all have grassy runs. During the day I rotate dogs out with me while I’m gardening etc, so they have plenty of free time.

We provide all food, beds etc, but you are welcome to bring your own. Toys and blankets from home help the dogs settle in. Up-to-date vaccination cards are a must. There is a discount for more than one guest. New dogs are welcome to a complimentary overnight stay so we can all get to know each other. Genuine loving care is guaranteed and rates are very reasonable.

Pick up and drop off times are strictly between 8.00 am and 6 pm.

*PLEASE NOTE* 
– Due to scaling back our business, we no longer offer boarding for the following breeds: German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans, Airedales, male English Staffys, Amstaffs, Bull Arabs and Bull Terriers. Current clients excepted.
– We also don’t accept Huskies or Malamutes due to the vocal nature of these dogs. This is as a favour to our neighbours! Current clients excepted.
* UPDATE – We no longer accept medium to large male dogs of any breed that are not desexed. Apologies to those owners of well-behaved entire male dogs. (Small dogs, and pups 12 months and under, are exceptions to this rule)
